Hello! This week I’ve been sharing all of our Teddy Bear’s Picnic Party ideas after Pebble’s super cute 3rd birthday party. So far I have shared:
- Teddy Bear’s Picnic Party: The Photos
- Teddy Bear’s Picnic Party: The Cake
- Teddy Bear’s Picnic Party: The Decorations
- Teddy Bear’s Picnic Party: The Activities
Today I’ll be sharing The Food!
I was very, very lucky to have LOTS of help with preparing the food for the party. My family are good caterers (perhaps over-caterers!) and we always help each other out for big family events by bringing along a plate of food to share. I personally only prepared a couple of things for the party.
My other secret weapon for catering is this: I only ever have ‘afternoon tea’ parties. We have a huge family which means that, with a few friends too, the numbers of invited guests easily reach at least 40 people. Lunch or dinner are just too much for me to even think about. So we don’t need to provide LOTS of food, just a few nice nibbles.
I made the cake, and these gorgeous Teddy Bears in Cars (‘recipe’ here), and threw the leftover lollies from both of those efforts into some cute paper cups. Apart from that I opened a packet of chips, chilled some pop-top juices and soft drinks, popped a few Iced Vovos and Triple Wafer biscuits on a plate and huzzah! Instant party.
A very special thank you to these wonderful people:
My sister in law, who made super adorable teddy bear cupcakes. Can you see their little expressions? Their faces all had a different story to tell. Almost too cute to eat. Almost.
My mum, who made her famous sausage rolls, which we always serve cold. Do you like cold sausage rolls? Our family does.
My mother in law, who made her lovely, fresh sandwiches – some egg, some salmon, all delicious.
My Dad, who is the egg man. His business is eggs. So of course he and my step-mum brought along a plate of curried eggs and plain boiled eggs. Perfect picnic finger food.
Come back tomorrow to see the final post in the Teddy Bear’s Picnic Party series: The Activities!
