Goodbye Ryan

On 11 October my baby brother, Ryan, passed away. He leaves behind three beautiful sons and a gaping whole in our hearts.

Many of you have seen my post about him on my Facebook page. I can’t thank you all enough for your kind words of love and support over the past week. I’m sorry that I haven’t replied to you all, it’s all been too overwhelming. Just know that I read your messages and appreciated every single one of them.

The love and support continues this week as I hand the blog over to my blogging buddies, who will be sharing guest posts with you in tribute to Ryan. In honour of his memory they will feature three things that he loved: lego, music and cake.

Many people have asked me if there is anything they can do to support me and my family right now. We are very grateful to any of you who would like to take action by donating to Beyond Blue, an Australian organisation working to reduce the impact of depression and anxiety in the community.

If nothing else then please pick up the phone today, call a friend that you’ve been thinking about and ask them if they are ok.

Thank you.

  1. I can only imagine the strength it would have taken you to write this post. It means so much to us that you’re sharing this with us. Please know my thoughts are with you. I too have used the resources of Beyond Blue and cannot emphasise enough the lack of funding that these organisations have to work with. Much love, Jess xx

  2. Adding encouragement here in the face of your unfathomable loss. Know that you have prayers and well wishes from around the world as you grieve. Take good care of yourself as you sort through the many stories in your heart. We send you love and strength during this difficult time. Strength and courage. Strength and courage. Strength and courage.
