40-52 text Pebble

Pebble – 3 years, 8 months – when did she get so grown up? She looks like a teenager to me here. There’s something in her eyes. This week we are in awe of her love for her baby brother. It oozes from her with every cuddle and every kindness. In the bath one night he reached out and grabbed a toy from her. She snatched it back, then looked at him for a moment before handing the toy back, saying, “I just really want him to be happy”. I wonder how long this sibling love will last? How long before the fighting starts?

40-52 text

Rocky – 30 weeks – It feels like only yesterday that I wrote “3 weeks”. Now “30”. Where did that time go? Right now he is all about moving. He lies on his belly and spins around and around, reaching, grabbing, throwing, kicking. He pushes up onto all fours and rocks back and forth before mashing his face into the carpet and screeching in frustration. It won’t be long now, and he’ll really be on the move. I suspect that this is when the sibling love may falter.

How are your kids going this week? What’s new?

39-52 Pebble text

Pebble – 3 years, 8 months – one thing that is just amazing us (as her doting parents) each and every day is Pebble’s growing vocabulary. When she hears a new word it just becomes a part of her daily chatter, and these big words are popping up in her sentences constantly. She’s talking SO much that I’ve stopped writing down the things she says. That probably doesn’t make much sense. Somehow when they were rare tidbits I’d be motivated to write them down, but now her words are a never-ended (seriously!) stream. I really should get in to the habit of recording her words again.

Rocky – 29 weeks – Rocky is still keeping us up at night and in demand of cuddles, but I think the cause may be revealing itself. He’s very drooly and mouthy, more than normal, so more teeth may be on the way (did I tell you he has his first tooth?!). He also has a snotty nose, weepy eyes and raspy voice since last night. I cuddled him all night like my own little teddy bear. It’s been a bit of a game of musical beds around here, but we’re making it work.

Two weeks has flown by, with my trip away I missed  my weekly photo update for the first time. I’m pretty impressed that I made it to 36 weeks! It’s catch up week now :)

Pebble – 3 years, 8 months – Pebble was totally fine while I was away, she didn’t miss me a bit, she was too busy playing with Daddy, Aunty Julie and her cousin. I think some of the usual house rules may have been bent a little too, so she was loving life! (ummm, eating dinner in bed?!).

37-52 Rocky 38-52 Rocky

Rocky – 28 weeks – 6 months – This guy. He was a gem while we were away, he won over lots of blogger hearts and had lovely days with his Grandma. Since we’ve been home he’s been teething and the poor mite has been very snuggly and quite fond of the boob. As in I-need-boob-in-my-mouth-all-night-to-sleep. Hmmm. If you have any tips for dealing with this, please do share!

See those pretty green beads that Pebble is wearing? And the yellow ones that Rocky is clinging to? They were a lovely gift from Mumma Bubba, who make gorgeous teething jewellery that is non-toxic and BPA free. I have worn mine non-stop. Rocky loves to chew on them and I love the pop of colour they give to my every day outfits. I wasn’t asked to write  post about them, this is a non-sponsored shout out for a product that I just love, and thought more people might like to know about :)

36-52 pebble

Pebble – 3 years, 7 months – My shopping buddy, peeking under the change room curtains at the ladies coming and going (not at them changing!). I have very vague memories of doing this when I was a kid :)

36-52 Rocky

Rocky – 26 weeks – My little buddah. Getting fatter by the day :) Such a relaxed and happy baby, and this week one who loves to sleep in mummy and daddy’s bed at night time. Ah, that old chestnut.

Pebble – 3 years, 7 months – a secret smile and a faraway look. I asked her what she was thinking about. “A tooth fairy”.

35-52 Rocky

Rocky – 25 weeks – he’s well! he’s happy! His bottom is an appropriate shade of pink and not red raw! We are so glad that Rocky is feeling better this week after a week of the never ending poonami.
